Whilst most of you will know our 14 months in Batam was very difficult - we still managed to get some beautiful photos of the islands and Sumatra.

Our transport to Brestagi was a little basic.

One of the two volcanoes we climbed. Take a guide - you need one and he was great. The volcano climb was a rewarding experience although we couldn't walk for a few days after doing 2 climbs in two days.

We did go to Bali but unfortunately lost all our photos when both cameras and film got stolen!

The children were very friendly on the nearby islands.
